On 23 October 2025, Scientific Publications signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Sh. Sh. Ualikhanov. Today we will talk about the main areas of future cooperation.

The Institute of History and Ethnology named after Sh. Sh. Ualikhanov of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the oldest and at the same time leading research institutions in the country in the field of historical science. Its activities are aimed at conducting fundamental research, developing strategic directions in the field of national ideology, and forming Kazakhstani patriotism, tolerance and civic identity, which is important for strengthening the national security of the state.
The Institute has seven departments:
- Department of 20th Century History of Kazakhstan
- Department of Historical Demography and the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan
- Department of Historiography, Source Studies and Modern Methodology
- Department of Ancient and Medieval History of Kazakhstan and Neighbouring Countries
- Department of Modern History of Kazakhstan
- Department of Ethnology and Anthropology
- Department of World History and Foreign Relations
The Institute's mission is to implement state policy in the field of fundamental scientific research in history, ethnology (ethnography), anthropology, historiography and source studies, as well as to develop production and economic activities in the field of science.
Young researchers at the Institute are actively engaged in scientific activities and participate in grant programmes and projects. They undergo internships at leading universities and research centres around the world, including in Italy, Germany, the United States, Japan, Turkey and other countries. Master's and doctoral students actively participate in scientific events, present the results of their research, and their articles are regularly published in domestic and international journals, including those indexed in the Scopus database.
Round table on the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On 23 October 2025, the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Sh. Sh. Ualikhanov of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a round table dedicated to Republic Day on the topic “Kazakhstan on the path to state independence: historical experience and modernity”.

On the same day, a memorandum of cooperation was officially signed between the Institute and the Scientific Publications.

The main purpose of signing the memorandum is to collaborate in research and scientific and educational activities in the field of scientometrics and science.
