In the first issue of the journal "Science and Metrics. Kazakhstan in the world ratings of scientometrics: progress and prospects" it is possible to get acquainted with actual topics for the scientific community of Kazakhstan. The issue considers the current state of science and scientometrics in Asian countries, requirements for obtaining scientific degrees and titles in Kazakhstan. Readers are invited to familiarise themselves with such platforms for scientific publications as Scopus and Web of Science, as well as with the scientific image of Kazakhstan. The pages of the issue contain information about the National H-Index Ranking, the principles of Google Scholar, as well as important scientometrics digital identifiers in Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar and ORCID. The journal will be useful for both young and experienced scientists, reviewers and editors.
