Kazakh scientific institutions and educational institutions: Recent changes in the NHR ranking

 

Every year, dozens of rankings are compiled to determine the best research and educational institutions both internationally and nationally. Leadership in such rankings provides institutions with recognition, increased credibility, funding, qualified professionals and talented students. One of these rankings is the National H-index Ranking.

 

The National H-index Ranking is an international independent ranking that assesses the scientific productivity of research and educational institutions and individual scientists, based on the consolidated Hirsch index. The assessment is based on data from such scientometric platforms as Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar. The Kazakh National H-index Ranking is formed on the basis of information from these three key databases. The system uses special search queries and filters to identify publications authored by scientists and research institutions of Kazakhstan.

The ranking included 155 organisations. 

 

 

In addition, the National H-index Ranking analyses the productivity of individual scientists and compiles the ratings “Top 1000 Scientists of Kazakhstan in Scopus” and “Top 1000 Scientists of Kazakhstan in Google Scholar” based on H-index indicators.
