«Times Higher Education World University Rankings» – is one of the most prestigious universities and educational facilities rankings, the influence of which is recognized by the whole world. Its methodology provides a complex rating of each university per 13 attributes, which allows for a proper analysis of the potential of an institution.
Primary metrics of educational institution activity under the methodology of «THE World University Rankings» are:
- Educational environment (30%).
- Research activity and reputation (30%).
- Value of research and their citations (30%).
- International cooperation (7,5%).
- Transfer of knowledge (2,5%).
Nearly 1,700 higher education institutions from 104 countries are included in the global rating. Two universities from the United Kingdom and three from the USA are at the top of the rating of the «Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023»:
- Oxford University (1st place).
- Harvard University (2nd place).
- Cambridge University (=3).
- Stanford University (=3).
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (5th place).
Kazakh higher education institutions are also present in the global rating. They hold the following rankings:
- Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (1001-1200).
- L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (1201-1500).
- Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I.Satbayev (1500+).
Worth noting, that, in comparison to the previous year, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University managed to improve its ratings from 1201+ to 1001-1200. L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University remained in the same position. Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I.Satbayev ratings have dropped in rating a bit – from 1201+ to 1500+.
