Research and publication activities are an important tool for sharing knowledge, developing the scientific community and influencing further research. Disseminating the results of your own research helps to establish scientific connections, increase citations and recognise a researcher in the professional community. Depending on the purpose of the research and the specifics of the material presentation, scientific works are divided into different types, among which scientific articles play a key role. They may have a different structure, content and purpose, which determines their type.

Types of scientific papers
- Abstract. A scientific report in the form of an abstract provides a deeper analysis of current trends. An abstract is a brief summary of the content of a research paper or research results. It is a report on a specific topic prepared on the basis of an analysis of literature and other sources, which summarises the main points, highlights the views of different authors, and provides the author's own assessment and conclusions. At the same time, the development of specific solutions is not mandatory.
- Scientific article. A type of scientific work that describes a study or a group of studies united by a common topic conducted by scientists. Such articles are published in scientific journals or collections of scientific papers. It is one of the most common ways of presenting scientific results. The article highlights research methods, proposes new approaches to solving a problem, and analyses the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed solutions.
- Academic essay. An academic essay is a formal piece of writing that contains a clearly structured argument or analytical consideration of a particular topic within a particular academic discipline.
- Course work. A type of independent academic and research work with elements of research that students of higher or professional higher education institutions perform during a semester. Its purpose is to consolidate, deepen and generalise the acquired knowledge and apply it to the complex solution of a specific professional task.
- Diploma thesis. A qualification work, a written research that serves to objectively assess the level of knowledge and skills in solving typical professional tasks related to organisational, managerial and executive (technological, operational) functions in accordance with the educational qualification characteristics.
- Dissertation. A specially prepared scientific work in the form of a manuscript, prepared for public defence for the purpose of obtaining academic degrees.
Types of scientific articles

This type of article may present original theories, clarify and supplement existing concepts, criticise them, compare different theoretical approaches, and develop methodological foundations in the field of agriculture and agricultural economics.
Review article
A review article is an article that systemises and analyses existing research in a particular scientific field in order to create a comprehensive picture of the current state of knowledge, identify unsolved problems and identify areas for further research. Review articles are important for updating the scientific community's knowledge of achievements and trends in agriculture, as well as for supporting researchers in formulating new research questions and hypotheses.
